The EAF-Nansen project is basically a capacity-building project in many respects. Capacity building s being undertaken with activities conducted under many of the outputs. The focus of  this component of the project is the training of personnel in fishery research institutes and fisheries managers to include EAF considerations in the management process including participatory methods.

This component also looks at support for study tours in specific disciplines, fellowships, training programme in key areas of EAF and training for the continuation of vessel related activities beyond the life of the project.

We are also looking at he possibility of co-organising and co-financing EAF-related courses in formal training institutions.
